CONCORD, NC - On Sunday, April 8, 2018, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated Lambda Upsilon Omega Chapter, in Concord welcomed six new members. As is their tradition, the newest inductees; Katasha Lloyd, Jasmine Monique Walters, Simone Elise Matthews, LaToya Ingram, Andrea Walker McNealey, and Jacquetta Banks were all adorned in white attire.

Following the final ceremony the new members, their families and friends enjoyed a luncheon at the Concord Renaissance Center.

During their initiation period the group displayed charity and fostered wellness among families in the Cabarrus County community. Selected service projects included Operation Homeless, Inc., and The Refuge of Hope at Centerview. The group stocked the pantry with canned goods and non-perishable items; sorted, folded and hung clean clothing that had been donated to the center.

Lambda Upsilon Omega’s vintage and new members have innovative ideas and initiatives for development growth and service to the community this year and beyond.

Throughout the year, members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated engage in a series of service projects aimed at uplifting the community and showcasing AKA Sorority as the premiere service organization embracing a global vision. The LUO Chapter will continue its service to all mankind as they gear up for the 65th Mid Atlantic Regional Conference in Charlotte, NC.
