CHARLOTTE, NC – The Johnson C. Smith University golf team finished in second place at the 2017 JCSU Invitational held at the par-72, 6,717 yard Larkhaven Golf Club in Charlotte, N.C. on Monday, April 10, 2017.

The Golden Bulls returned a team total of 377 (+89) on their home course in the five-team eventJCSU was led by DeJuan Powell (Atlanta, Ga.), as he carded a 10-over par 82, good for fourth place overall.

Junior teammate Glenn Canty (Durham, N.C.) shot a 94 (+22) to finish in 14th.Livingstone won the team title by shooting a 321 (+33) and was led by Phillip Harrison, who collected the medalist honor with a one-over, 73.

John McFayden of Queens and Livingstone’s Harry Standberry tied for second with each shooting a 7-over 79.

The Golden Bulls will return to the course later this week, taking part in the CIAA Championship on April 13-14 at The Crossings in Glen Allen, Va
