CARY, N.C. – North Carolina Central University baseball head coach Jim Koerner has been selected to work with USA Baseball for a second spell, this time to manage the 14U (Under-14) National Development Program.

Koerner recently was on the coaching staff of the Collegiate National Team during the 18th USA vs. Chinese Taipei International Friendship Series from June 28 to July 2, and Team USA swept all five games.

Koerner will operate as the manager of the Stars Team during a week of highly developed on-field and off-field National Team instruction and education. The coaches will work as a staff during the morning workouts, and then separately with either the Stars or Stripes team during the intrasquad games.

“I’m honored and excited to again be a part of USA Baseball,” Koerner said. “I am looking forward to putting on the USA uniform and working with the best 14U players in the country.”

The National Team Development Program offers identified athletes an opportunity to connect with USA Baseball staff to better prepare for future national team experiences. The program includes skill development sessions, off-field education seminars and intra-squad Stars vs. Stripes games to assist in the development of the athletes as people and players.
