WNBA Star Appointed to Barber Scotia President's Advisory Board

CONORD - Dr. Melvin Isadore Douglass, 24th President of Barber Scotia College and a graduate of Tuskegee, Columbia and Harvard Universities, recently appointed superstar Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) player, Ms. Tiffany Mitchell to the President's Advisory Board. She was the youngest member of this august gathering.

Mitchell attended Providence Day School and University of South Carolina. She received a B.S. degree, with honors in Retail Management. After graduation she was drafted in the 1st Round by the Indiana Fever and, eventually, became the highest paid member of the team. In addition, she was selected to play on the United States Women's Basketball Team in the World Championship, when hosted by Russia.

Ms. Mitchell is the daughter of Alumna Cheryl Mitchell, class of 1984. Dr. Douglass said, "It is wonderful to see the children of Barber-Scotia graduates doing well and giving back."
