WSGE 91.7FM's Tim Greene receives the Presidential Award & Distinguished Humanitarian Award for community service

CHARLOTTE, NC - Charlotte, North Carolina morning radio personality, music director, assistant program director, film writer/director and philanthropist Tim Greene recently received The President's Gold Service Award for his continued community service in the Carolina's as well as throughout the United States and overseas. Marquis Who's Who in America also presented Tim with a Distinguished Humanitarian Award and the City Of Los Angeles presented Tim with a Certificate Of Commendation for his service to the youth of the city. During his multi city motivational tours, Tim has purchased over 350 laptop computers for low-income students in underserved communities all without any sponsorships.

As a young kid Tim not only received a few tennis lessons from the great Arthur Ashe, he also received a few life lessons. Tim then became a ball boy for the likes of Billie Jean King, John McEnroe and Chris Evert and went on to win over 120 tennis trophies. Tim credits his giving spirit to the faculty and staff of Gaston College, Dr. Patricia Skinner, current Gaston College president Dr. John Hauser, WSGE operations manager Cathis Hall, Todd Baney, The Honorable Judge Jesse Caldwell III, Martha “Radio Lady” George and the staff and volunteers of WSGE radio station. When you are around people who care about the wellbeing of others, you cannot help but follow suit.
