Cooperative Extension offers ServSafe Course

A ServSafe course will be held at the Iredell County Agricultural Resources Center, 444 Bristol Drive, Statesville N.C. on August 27th and 28th with the exam given on the 29th of August. ServSafe teaches the essentials of safe food handling. The course includes a textbook and materials. There is an independent study option that allows a student to study own his/her own and take the exam on the third day. Classes will meet on August 27th and 28th, 2018 from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m., and a review will be given on August 29th, from 9 am to 10am with the exam to follow from 10am to 12pm.

The fee for the course is $100 and covers the textbook, materials and refreshments. The fee is $50 for persons who already have a 7th edition book and need to recertify or retest without taking the class. Registration forms are available for pick up at the Alexander, Iredell, and Rowan County Cooperative Extension Offices or online at iredell.ces.ncsu.edu. The class is limited to 25 participants. The deadline for registration is August 17th, 2018 or until the class is filled.
