CHARLOTTE, NC – By now we hope area citizens have eliminated candidates they have not seen in their communities until filing day, and are ready to make clear choices on who they not only want, but who well best serve the needs of “ALL” citizens.

If possible, offer a ride to the polls to someone without transportation, or is elderly and can no longer drive.

Precinct polling locations throughout the city of Charlotte and North Carolina Congressional District 9 will be open from 6:30 am until 7:30 pm.

Volunteer poll greeters will be needed to distribute literature for the special 9th District election at early voting locations in Matthews, Mint Hill and southeast Charlotte. In addition, volunteers are needed every day from now until September 10 to contact voters in the 9th Congressional District.

Listed here is all of the 2019 early voting locations in Mecklenburg County for the September 10 Charlotte municipal primary, Matthews mayoral primary and 9th Congressional District special general election:

Voter pre-registration for the 2019 Charlotte municipal primary elections, Matthews mayoral primary, and the special election for NC Congressional District 9 will end on Friday, August 16,2019 at 5 PM. However, voters will still have the opportunity to register and vote the same day at all early voting sites during early voting hours. Voter information such as address changes may also be updated during early voting. Bring an ID or other documentation with your current address to the early voting site if you need to register to vote or update your voter registration information. (Please note that same-day voter registration is only available during early voting and not on Election Day September 10).

You may also choose to vote by mail.

If you wish to vote by mail, you will need to complete an Absentee by Mail Request form and return it to the county Board of Elections. The last day to request an absentee by mail ballot for the September 10 election is Tuesday September 3, 2019.
