Across The County News 5-County market one would find several individuals that not only stand out, but when choosing the newsmakers, one must also look for those that stand up.

In the past we have recognized one for each county, however this year we have found three that truly standout and, we will only provide basic information in this issue but, will present a more through walk of each honoree in our first issue of 2023.

Please join us in recognizing Dr. Anthony Davis, Livingstone Colleges 13th president, Senator Joyce Waddell who is serving her fourth term representing Charlotte-Mecklenburg’s 40th District and, Mr. Eric Todd Scott, who is serving his 3rd term as President of the Statesville Branch NAACP.

Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis
Dr. Anthony Davis, a Livingstone alum, first returned to Salisbury to serve as Senior Vice President/Chief Operating Officer for Livingstone. This set the stage for him to learn, feel, and know the operations of the college. In addition to being an ordained minister he is prepared and ordained to meet staff and students where they are and provide guidance in their daily walk with a plethora of issues.

Joyce Waddell
Joyce Waddell
A former educator, Senator Joyce Waddell, who serves District 40, a diverse population, has earned the respect of parents, lay servants, and professionals and, provides advice and fights for the rights of all. She is on the ground working and keeping her constituents abreast of all issues while designing plans to accomplish all goals. More importantly, as a member of IMC (International Minority Coalition) she has earned the respect of a diverse population and is present at all events and special occasions. That too is why she earned her 4th term as Senator. You can be assured that if there is an event dedicated to aiding and improving not only her district, but the city-at-large, Senator Joyce Waddell will be in attendance not only in body, but aid and support.

Todd Scott
Todd Scott
