Hartzell Memorial United Methodist Church in partnership with the Hickory Branch National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) presents, “BLACK HISTORY OPENHOUSE – 2018.” A small, wide-ranging selection of local, state, national and international historical contributions of African Americans are addressed – some more in-depth than others.

This one – day event is co-sponsored by Hartzell Church, having a local history which dates prior to 1879 and the NAACP which nationally dates from 1909. The exhibit is open to the public from 12:00 to 4:00 PM Saturday February 24, 2018 at Hartzell Church, 465 South Center Street SE, Hickory, NC where Rev. Cassandra Rawls is the Pastor. Samuel E. Hunt is president of the Hickory Branch NAACP.
