Simpson-Gillespie United Methodist Church’s United Methodist Women invites all ladies to join them for an exciting “Mission Study,” based on the book of Ruth, using the theme, “Seeing the Ruth in You,” Saturday, April 6, 2019, 9am to 10pm with a continental breakfast and lunch provided.

Rev. Lisa Moore

The ladies are pleased to have Rev. Lisa Moore, pastor of Scotts Chapel United Methodist Church in Statesville serve as the mission study leader. Rev. Moore, a lover of working with children and young adults, even those at risk, will serve as an excellent guide to help those in attendance see the Ruth in themselves.

Rev. Moore is a graduate of South Iredell High School, received certification as a clerk/ typist and worked in that arena until God called her to the ministry in 2007. She immediately enrolled in Mitchell Community College and received her Associates Degree in Human Service in 2010, her BS degree from Gardner Webb University in 2012, and her Masters of Divinity Degree from Hood Theological Seminary in 2018. She is currently working on her papers to become an Elder within the United Methodist Church.

Prior to becoming a pastor 11 years ago, Rev. Moore served as a Lay Servant, age level coordinator, and also served as the President of United Methodist Women in her local church, an ideal choice for the study.

Those eager to join the mission study should simply read the Book of Ruth; it’s only 4 chapters long.

Simpson-Gillespie United Methodist Church is located at 3545 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, NC, where Rev. James Graves is pastor, and Mrs. Earonita F. Strong is UMW President.
